185051 2003-10-24 08:36:00 Steve, if you could check that out for me regarding the drive bay covers I would really appreciate it. I have a couple of covers from my other PC but am not keen on filing them down to fit in case I need those some day.

Oh, and if you have an old dead mobo that you no longer want I could be interested in that as well. And old dead sticks of ram. :p :D

My email is in my profile if you want to drop me a line. :-)

185052 2003-10-24 23:26:00 Umm. Can someone tell me how to flash the bios?

I tried downloading the exe file, and I stuck it on a floppy, and tried to boot from it, but it said it was an unbootable disk or something

So, if that is not how you do it, than how do you flash your bios?

185053 2003-10-25 07:01:00 So, no one know how to update the bios?

Even those who have done it?

185054 2003-10-25 07:38:00 Ok, I had a shot a the bios myself. I have hit a problem though.

I got Version 2.1 (Award) from
www.msi.com.tw

When I run it, for the file name to program, I put W617MS21.BIN because it is either that, or a txt file.

I did the save, and called it ONBIOS. Because I didnt know if it was the Old or New bios I was saving.

So the it says, The program file's part number does not match with your system!

Do I keep going or not?

Here is some other garbage it says on that Flash thing:

For i440LX-W977-2A69JM49C
Date: 11/19/97
Flash Type - WINBONF 29EE011 /5V or maybe U

Helpful maybe?

When i did my bios I put AWDFL535.EXE & W617MS25.BIN files onto a floppy disc,
I booted my pc off a win98 Boot disc & when I got the A:\ prompt I changed discs & typed AWDFL535.EXE & press enter & follow the prompts.

185058 2003-10-25 07:45:00 By memory it comes to a part that asks what file you want to use, type in W617MS25.BIN
also when you install faster processor set dip switch/jumpers to 333mhz
