185044 2003-10-21 09:15:00 Hi,

I think you'll be able to use any pre-coppermine celeron on that board, though I have only personally gone as far as a celeron 400.

185047 2003-10-23 20:41:00 I had no idea if I had a 1MB BIOS, but I decided I had cahones of steel and used it. It worked fine. I suspect if your board is swiped out of a PC Direct 690 then you'll be ok too. BIFF (1)
185048 2003-10-23 21:08:00 My board was out of a PC Direct 690 as well :-)

I see there are a few slot 1 to socket 370 adapters on trademe in the CPU section.

Hi Steve :-)

You wouldn't happen to have an unused drive bay cover from that computer, would you?

I have that model as well and removed a cover to install my CD writer a couple of years ago. Recently the writer got moved to the Beast and now I cannot find the plastic cover to go over the vacant bay. I think it may have accidentally got thrown out. :-(

If you have one spare would I be able to have it please?

185050 2003-10-24 07:23:00 Hi Susan, My kids had the PC direct computer 1st ,Then I gave it to my Dad, & then we upgraded the mobo with a P3 500 from an unknown donor computer & I had the MS-6117 mobo sitting in the Garage.
Terry Porritt gave me a dead mobo with the OK celeron 533 cpu & thats how it ended up on the PC direct mobo.
I have quite a few of those plastic drive bay covers & if one of them fits Dads old pc direct you are more than welcome to have it ;)

What I have done in the past is break the tabs off an old blank plate from a different Pc & a touch of super glue to hold it in B-)

Cheers Steve
