| 185423 | 2003-10-21 07:21:00 | For the last month, the Event Viewer in the Computer Management MMC provided by my os (XP Home Edition) has been registering in the System section, almost daily Errors. These denote the source as DCOM and the Event Number as 10010. The properties of the Error advise that "the server F3A614DC-ABE0-11D2-A441-00C04F795683 did not register with DCOM within the required time out". Enquiries so far lead me to understand that this server resides on my own computer and is not of the external nefarious internet kind, which was my original worry. However, I am no further towards tracking it down and fixing whatever it is that is causing these background errors. Any help in this direction would be appreciated. |

| 185424 | 2003-10-21 07:47:00 | Ross, Hmmm... well that SID is for MSN Messenger (version 6?). Now there's probably lots of information regarding THAT s/w on the web and how to either remove/modify/stop it running/activating etc. try doing a GOOGLE (www.google.com) with the CLSID # "F3A614DC-ABE0-11D2-A441-00C04F795683" and "MSN Messenger" as search terms and see if anything comes up that helps. I don't have Messenger (MSN or otherwise) on these systems so can't help precisely with your problem. Cheers, Babe. |
