| 185400 | 2003-10-21 06:06:00 | Hi, I have been trying to get through a particular land mark in MAx Payne.........and have been struggling for a week now!! Its the room with flames!!! I've finally decided to cheat and want help with modifying the exe file........a particular site says "To get access to the game console, you need to start maxpayne.exe with the command line parameter "-developer". How do I do this? where do I find this folder? Thanks |

Right-click your existing shortcut to find out where it is. Pretend you are using XP, as we haven't a clue. Others may be similar. Pretend the game is in c:/program files/ name of game/Maxpayne.exe Now right click the shortcut and select Properties. In the Shortcut Tab, in the Target box, you will see the full path and name of the file "C:\Program Files\{game directory}\Maxpayne.exe" Add to the Maxpayne.exe, a space followed by -developer "C:\Program Files\{game directory}\Maxpayne.exe -developer" Try that. Substitute your file and folder names as required. |

The first site in the list looks quite good . To my mind it would be preferable to have a little help with one scene rather than possibly spoil the whole game by having all the cheats exposed at once . If that is what modifying the exe file will do, of course, I wouldn't know . |
