185725 2003-10-22 18:49:00 I have a friend who is really into video editing, and he recently produced 3 short "movies". He has started burning a couple of copies onto DVD, however he wants to burn some onto VCD to give to friends/families. How would he go about doing this (I have absolutely no experience with Macs, so I can't help him too much)?

He said that all up, the total file size on the Mac uncompressed is about 8GB. As far as I know, he's been using iDVD to burn to DVDs.

185726 2003-10-23 02:18:00 ... Is there anyone who knows how to do this?? Just to reiterate that this is legitimate work which he created, so he isn't breaking any copyright laws. somebody (208)
185727 2003-10-23 02:29:00 He would need software to encode it into the vcd format, then he would need software to author it to cd.

www.vcdhelp.com have a section of thier forum dedicated to macs, tell him to ask thier, there may even be something in the tools section.

Google aint bad either.

185729 2003-10-23 03:43:00 I'm also curious, would he need 3rd part software, or is there something built into the MacOS to do the burning part? somebody (208)
