185873 2003-10-23 04:21:00 Hello every one

I have just scanned my computer for virus & every time I scanned my computer with AVG since NAV has expired a few weeks back

These two files keep coming up as a possible virus:

C:\WINDOWS\Temporary Internet Files\CONTENT.IE5\CKVPGTTP\Would you like to meet me_ .dat repaired

C:\WINDOWS\Temporary Internet Files\CONTENT.IE5\8RSTCVWF\Stuartw, Hi It's Jennifer .htm repaired

When I have a look to see what the virus is (via the result’s in AVG) this is all I find

Warning: hidden extension .dat & for the 2nd file Warning: hidden extension .htm

Does any know why this is happing???? or any ideas????

and NAV did not pick it up when I had in on my computer a few weeks back….

Also I have clear out my Temporary Internet Files but that did not help.

Nope, & I am not going to install them, because the last time I install adaware I started to have computer problems me thinks

185876 2003-10-23 05:10:00 They look like subject lines for e-mail, probably cached from a hotmail address or something.

AVG is complaining because the files have multiple extensions, which is a commong ploy used by viruses.

So a file hot_naked_girl.jpg.exe will only show as hot_naked_girl.jpg if the user has file extensions turned off (which are by default) so it just looks like a jpeg to the average user.

Anyway the files are only in your IE Cache... delete them.

185878 2003-10-24 23:21:00 Deep scans always takes up a lot of CPU %, so try shutting down all programs whilst you are running it - or if that is inconvenient, schedule it to run "after hours". Jen C (20)
