185646 2003-10-22 05:15:00 I recently bought some software over the internet. After I paid, I registered the version I had downloaded. When the CD arrived in the post, I tried to uninstall so I could reinstall with the CD version - there were a few minor glitches and I felt the CD installation would be more stable. The CD also had a few 'extras' that the downloaded version lacked.

However, I'm having trouble uninstalling the first, downloaded version. It doesn't appear in the list of all programs (I'm running XP Home) as you would expect, and after some hunting around I found an Uninstall.exec file but it stalled after I tried it. The program is not listed in Add/Remove programs in the control panel either.

First, would it do any harm to install from the CD the same program without uninstalling the present version?

If unistall is necessary, what should I do, given the hitches I've outlined? Would deleting everything in the program's folder achieve anything? (I've always understood this is NOT the way to uninstall something - but what if there's no other way?).

The program is Harmony Assistant from Myriad.com.

185648 2003-10-22 20:39:00 I'd never used regcleaner before but I downloaded it and followed your advice and everything worked perfectly. Thank you :D colmack (2939)
