186328 2003-10-24 21:06:00 Hi everyone:

Long time, no see!

My computer boots from Floppy. How do I change it to boot from CD, as I have a Knoppix disc I would like to have some fun with!

OS is Windows ME

Baldy :-)

186329 2003-10-24 21:10:00 Right after POST, you will see a quick message about hitting DEL key (or similar) to enter Setup. Keep tapping that key until you get into the BIOS. Depending upon what BIOS version you have, you will need to look for the "Boot Order" selection. Using the up down arrows, change the order to:

1. Floppy
2. CD-ROM
3. Hard drive

Note, the actual way your BIOS describes the device may be a little different, but I'm sure you can figure it out. Don't forget to save the changes when you exit out of BIOS. Then simply insert the bootable CD and restart the PC and it should boot from it.

186330 2003-10-24 21:11:00 You need to reboot your computer and enter the BIOS to change the boot order from floppy disk to CD ROM. To enter the BIOS watch the screen and press the Delete key when required. tommy (2826)
