186206 2003-10-24 06:23:00 When my computer boots up and windows load up I get the error
"Memory access violation in module kernel32 at 8889:45711989"
When I acknowledge this by pressing enter everything appears to work ok apart from my AVG Antivirus control panel.
How can I cure this ??????????

186207 2003-10-24 06:36:00 This is one indication of a virus, and that may also explain why AVG doesn't work. Many viruses disable the AV software to prevent detection.

Have you by any chance clicked on any attachments purporting to come from Microsoft recently?

If so (and this is one symptom only of this) go to the link below, it will download "stinger" from McAfee, which may help, then you need to reinstall AVG and update it, do a full system scan.

download.nai.com

If on the other hand this is not the case, Stinger will not do any harm.

186208 2003-10-24 06:37:00 Did you open any emails recently from Microsoft with an attachment?

A bit of a google suggests that you have a virus, which ties in with your AVG being disabled.

Try this online scan for viruse and see what it detects:
Symantec Security Check (service1.symantec.com)

Excuses Jen....I left it for a while to give you the chance as well....you need the post counts more than me.
