She said her client had reached an exceptional level in her sport and had been offered a chance to compete overseas again. Judge Hubble said he was mindful of occasions when, for instance, New Zealand representative rugby players had been refused entry to Canada because of similar drink-driving convictions. Ah well, the athlete can keep going and making money. People make decisions, if her decision means the end of her career - well that's her problem. This just tells other "special people" that laws don't really apply to them. This BS has to stop. |

| 1326118 | 2013-02-02 10:56:00 | +1 I am getting really tired of hearing these types getting off a conviction where you and I wouldn't. Do the crime do the time. She was twice the limit as well. No excuse. And judges wonder why people are loosing respect for them? |

I've never been twice the legal limit anywhere but the comfort of my own home (Well my stag night too, that was at my brothers and we all stayed there for the night). I've never felt the urge to drinking drive. If you do the crime, then its your own damn fault if you screw over your career in the process. Don't wanna interfere with your chances in international sports? Don't drink drive, or drink but stay at home. Seems simple if you ask me? Though I suppose these kinds of people aren't known for their high intellect... |

You have to wonder which planet they were recruited from. |
