1325675 2013-01-30 09:35:00 So apparently I renewed this domain back in November. Don't remember doing it so must of autorenewed and charged the cc card. Question is what happened to it? It is no longer going anywhere and I cannot recall who took it off once I stopped hosting (after the site killed the server it was hosted on :-) ) hueybot3000 (3646)
1325676 2013-01-30 20:11:00 Yeah I thought it was renewed too... wratterus (105)
1325677 2013-01-30 20:14:00 Was it something to do with pressf1 hueybot? Zara Baxter (16260)
1325678 2013-01-30 21:14:00 It was a site that erayd setup for imaging hosting that a lot of people here used. I had it on my server for a while then I think he took it back after some security issues played havoc on the server. Just wondering if I need to be renewing domain really hueybot3000 (3646)
1325679 2013-01-30 21:16:00 Ahh, cool, thanks for explaining. It sounded as though it might be something that might be my responsibility and I didn't know of its existence, so thought I'd better check. :) Zara Baxter (16260)
1325680 2013-01-30 21:16:00 I still have the script somewhere to so it could be bought back to life if someone was keen to go through it and close the holes in its non existent security hueybot3000 (3646)
1325681 2013-01-31 00:02:00 Why do you need it at all - there is a perfectly adequate file manager in vB already.
Just go to advanced reply and click on the paperclip icon at the top.
There's the file manager with all the pics you have previously posted, which you can drag and drop to re post or upload more

The only thing would be if pic size upload limits are ridiculously small, which is easy fixed (Chill :) )

1325682 2013-01-31 00:04:00 A few points:
I didn't write it (and in fact had nothing to do with it at all until point #2 below) - credit for the current iteration of ImageF1 goes to Dannz (pressf1.pcworld.co.nz).
After major security issues with the script got it kicked off hueybot's host, I offered to host it on a dedicated VM with some reasonably hefty restrictions - the idea being that if it got compromised again, it couldn't affect anything else.
Sometime between mid-December 2012 (when I last checked it) and now, somebody appears to have mucked with the load balancer config, with the result that the ImageF1 domain now points to the wrong site.

I still have the script somewhere to so it could be bought back to life if someone was keen to go through it and close the holes in its non existent securityThis isn't a viable proposition - it needs a ground-up rewrite, it's so insanely vulnerable that it would actually be *more* work to try and secure the existing source than it would be to start over.

So - noting the forum now allows image uploads, do we still need / want ImageF1 around? It seems somewhat superfluous to me, but if you guys still want it, I'm happy to go kick the ass of the person who screwed up the balancer config (that bit will probably happen regardless) and put the site back online.

1325683 2013-01-31 00:06:00 Yeah I kinda just use the built-in forum stuff now we allow it. That, or there's imgur.com or min.us for when I can't post it here :) Chilling_Silence (9)
1325684 2013-01-31 00:26:00 Dannz, that's the name I was trying to remember!

All good, I will let the domain lapse next time around then. I wasn't overly concerned, was more out of interest as I noticed it had disappeared.

Cheers
