1325397 2013-01-28 23:15:00 They've said that before about cutting days.
True, we get most bills via email or logging in to look at them.

But parcels have increased, with Trademe and online shopping, you'd think they'd pay more attention to that side of their business.

1325398 2013-01-28 23:18:00 I would have thought that reducing delivery frequency would reduce usage even further. If know you can't get things (eg concert tickets) next day, you'd opt to pick them up instead. Zara Baxter (16260)
1325399 2013-01-28 23:33:00 I'd agree with that. They should focus more on parcel shipping & Priority mail, eg for regular trademe people eg for $100 a month you could send up to 30 items under 1.5kg/30x30x30cm or for tickets, or have cut price priority mail for tickets/other documents where you pick up from the post shop as opposed to waiting for it to be delivered. 1325400 2013-01-28 23:43:00 Hands up those who even thought they would ever keep up with the competition or show some initiative.

Unless they have very innovative and strong leadership, few organisations that have practically had a monopoly for so many years seem to be unable to adapt quickly enough.

That's a good point. If they do that they may well just make jobs for other courier companies and end up in a worse position.

If letters are going by the wayside, maybe they should focus on parcels, make their service more attractive so more people use it. I like using NZ Post for parcels as they are one of the most reliable in my experience. I would hate to see them go.

1325404 2013-01-29 01:11:00 The amount of parcels being shipped is probably increasing at the same rate as letters are dropping because of people buying so much more stuff over the internet. They need to focus more on parcels than letters. jonovw (16835)
