1326047 2013-02-02 06:45:00 Thanks, they are not directional. They are assymtricals but we are replacing the 4 of them :)
I dunno eh .. been reading reviews, prices about $140 - 300. Some said GT Radiums are crap .. but Firestones are around that price too, a push to $200 will get Bridgestones and then Michellins will up in a tad more than that ... 2.0L that we drive around town mostly, 205/60/15. I guess dad's Camry has Supercat they do seem spongy, not sure if that is the Camry or what thou :D

I did get a quote of some GoodYear Directional F1's ;)

1326048 2013-02-02 07:53:00 If your tyres have a directional tread your new tyres will also need a directional tread, unless you replace the set. If you have directional & normal treads on the same vehicle you may not get a WOF. I always use New Zealand tyres if possible, good price and quality. In the past I used retreads all the time, only had one fail. I used to keep them several months before fitting to allow the rubber to cure.

Not true, it's per axle.

My car has factory 18's, don't think I'll be seeing much change from $500 to replace the fronts somehow.

1326049 2013-02-02 08:05:00 Yeah you're not able to replace just a single tyre as I found out when trying an insurance claim... Must be both front or both rear. Chilling_Silence (9)
1326050 2013-02-02 22:53:00 Go to your friend with the Consumer account online has a lot of info on different tyres, seems some pricey tyres don't necessarly have the prefomance to match! PPp (9511)

Thanks. Liasing with him now, he's in another city :) I did go to the library and got the October 2012 and bugger it doesn't list all the tyres that they have online, those others may had been an earlier edition and it's not that made aware online which edition the mags they are on.

1326052 2013-02-03 03:08:00 Top tyres from Consumer in the following 3 sizes. 175 Goodyear Assurance, 195 BF Goodrich Sport T/A and 215 GT Radial Champiro 228.

1326053 2013-02-03 03:19:00 Many thanks Trev, :) If you have the Consumer Mag, online it mentioned that they reviewed and recommended the GT Radial Champiro 128 in 2011. Could you have a look at what they said about it and what place did it rank and the score it was awarded. We're looking at ~$150 tyres. Yep, many of the tyres can be sourced for other sizes :) GT Radial 228 were top place in 2012. Nomad (952)
1326054 2013-02-03 03:21:00 That depends on how many Ks you do. I only do 4 or 5000Ks a year but if you are someone who dose 50,000ks a year or more then yes.
:)
Shites, that's blardy impressive!

1326056 2013-02-03 04:05:00 I love the consumer mag, glad I got a sub for it, even just using it once in a blue moon (Every month maybe?) it's still worthwhile for the information it provides! Chilling_Silence (9)
