1325157 2013-01-27 23:03:00 I have no problem with annual WOF, about bloody time, car technology has come such a long way from the 80s.....Pity they dont do something about the 100 speed limit! SolMiester (139)
1325158 2013-01-27 23:08:00 The new scheme won't be implemented until next year. @solmiester yes I agree.

1325159 2013-01-27 23:14:00 If my arithmetic is wrong 2000 makes the car 13 years old.
:)

Yes, but I don't think that date changes: six-monthly checks will always apply to cars registered before 2000 in 2013 or 2020.

1325160 2013-01-27 23:23:00 My understanding is that it will always be 13 years, so in 2020 it will apply to cars older than 2007.
:)

1325161 2013-01-27 23:55:00 Ah, that's OK then. wratterus (105)
1325162 2013-01-27 23:59:00 My understanding is that it will always be 13 years, so in 2020 it will apply to cars older than 2007.:) I've never seen this mentioned. pcuser42 (130)
1325163 2013-01-28 00:04:00 That's because it isn't. The plan is to eventually phase out 6 months WOF for most peoples daily driver. Alex B (15479)
1325164 2013-01-28 00:47:00 I'm only making an assumption here on the 13 year thing.

1325165 2013-01-28 00:55:00 Right, then not OK. wratterus (105)
1325166 2013-01-28 02:04:00 Nope the closest you get is the CV Boot, and even that is only because it can spray grease on the brakes.
Yes, heard that.
WOF people make it up themselves.
An engine leak isn't a warrant thing either yet VTNZ made a fuss about a car I had taken there once, then pulled the hose off the air intake. Ad denied it later.
