1349600 2013-07-23 23:06:00 I found a NZ site that has pretty much everything I want
www.legionenterprises.co.nz

Placed an order and now I'm waiting. They are aftermarket parts not MOLEX so I'm curious as to the quality. Also I ended up with UV green just because it was the only colour that had everything I wanted :) - was really after black but noone will see it anyway. This is partly an exercise to see how well it works out for future builds.

1349602 2013-07-25 00:41:00 Well I'm getting closer, seems they are not called Molex officially

Yeah that's just the brand.

1349603 2013-07-25 04:31:00 Yeah I knew that but didn't know what else to call them.

Haven't received the parts yet but I was impressed that they noticed I'd done two orders and combined them, then refunded the 2nd shipping fee (I noticed after ordering the pins that they had more stuff I wanted).

I ordered a kit for $22 which has a bunch of sleeving and heatshrink I wasn't really after but it's cheap enough and includes pin removal tools and a selection of connectors. Basically it's meant for case modders who want to customise the PSU cabling - perfect for what I'm doing although I wouldn't call myself a modder normally.

1349604 2013-07-25 04:56:00 I think I would just cut, shorten\extend and then solder the cable back together. Done that several times with fan leads. Agent_24 (57)
1349605 2013-07-25 05:30:00 That would work but it would be a lot more effort and get tedious, plus I'd need to get some more heatshrink anyway . I might do that for the side fan though . I specifically want to alter the SATA power cable to suit the drive cages . currently the plugs are upside down and the spacing is about 2-3 times longer than it needs to be which makes for ugly loops of cable at each drive bay . I also want to clean up the wiring in general to make the cables a better length .

It's a CM 120 elite case with 3 Hdd's and a 10" graphics card in it, I got it reasonably tidy but the excess power cable is tricky to deal with . I've used a silverstone 350W SFF PSU which has made working in the case many times easier, and it's stood up to stress testing with prime 95 and furmark at the same time but I still feel nervous about such a low rating . I had this PSU already but they also have a 450W version I might have to upgrade to for peace of mind . (PC has a 650Ti boost & i3 3220 - good combo IMHO) .

The PC is out of action at the moment though as I RMA'd the motherboard as per my other thread :(
