186748 2003-10-26 06:28:00 I was playing an old game the other day and needed to look up the manual to refresh my memory on some finer points, then found I couldnt locate it. Bugger!

On searching on the Internet I found a site called replacement docs (http://www.replacementdocs.com) where someone has laboriously scanned all their game manuals and viola, I now have my manual again.

If you are trying to find a manual for an older game then this is the place.

186749 2003-10-26 06:50:00 What a great site parry :)

Just located the manual for an old favourite game of mine - just got to find where the CD went to now :D

There is also a nice section on how to make PDF documents.

186751 2003-10-26 07:27:00 Thanks Parry, that's a really good site. :-)

Someone I know has lost their manuals for a couple of games so I will get some brownie points when I send them the link to that place. :D

186752 2003-10-26 07:49:00 Your most welcome. The amount of work involved to make those manuals must have been a huge task.

I found another good site as well called Universal Hint System (www.uhs-hints.com) which gives you brief hints for a game, but done in a clever way to only give you snippets so that it doesnt spoil everything. I dont usually use any walkthroughs (and never cheats) but sometimes the enjoyment of a game is sapped out of me when you get to a roadblock you cant pass. Especially for RPG or adventure games.

Good gaming.

186754 2003-10-27 00:16:00 What an excellent, useful site (replacement docs) -- now that's what I call a practical, useful application of the WWW/Internet. Chemical Ali (118)
