186680 2003-10-26 04:00:00 What is the font that is used in the preview pane in OE?

I want to set the same font setting as used in OE for preview and listing of email messages, in Outlook XP

In OE, all it says is "western european" and then gives individual setting and anyone of them dont seem to change the font of the emails listed up at the top of preview pane.

I want to have the same font size style in Outlook XP listing of the emails (just above the preview pane) as in OE but, i dont know what font size/style is used in OE.

And i am going thru View->Current View-> Customize Current View->Automatic formatting in Outlook XP to change font settings/styles.

Is this the correct way?

Thankx

186681 2003-10-26 05:19:00 Well after some fiddling around, i have managed to match Outlook XP view with OE view.

As i am so accustomed to OE views and hate adopting to outlooks default view, Just in case someone wants to do the same heres how i did it.

View->Current View-> Define Views ->Messages -> "Modify" -> "Other Settings" - > Change "Column Headings" and "Rows" to 8pt Tahoma.

One more thing i havent fixed yet. Everytime you click on a message up at the list, it appears with the email below and shows
"This message has extra line breaks, To remove click here"
How do i get rid of this anoying little message??

Thankx

186682 2003-10-26 05:39:00 To enable/disable the line break option, go to Tools | Options | Preferences | Email Options .

Tick or untick the "Remove extra line breaks" as required

186683 2003-10-26 05:49:00 It may have no effect in HTML formatted e-mails, I suspect its for plain text ones only, by the way .

Its a nice feature in Outlook in my opinion, that it will reformat inappropriately wrapped text .

186684 2003-10-26 05:57:00 Thankx godfather,

I had actually done that. Sorry i wasnt clear, but
I dont want the annoying message(s) both ways.

i.e
"Extra Line breaks in this message were removed, To restore click here"
"This message has extra line breaks, To remove click here"

Is there anyway to get rid of that little blue "i" together with the message permanently? I hope theres some little checkbox for that!

186685 2003-10-26 06:45:00 As far as I know, its an integral part of Outlook, and used with any message where line breaks are detected.

Its a "feature", more than an error message.

186686 2003-10-26 08:13:00 You seem to be right godfather about the "integrated" part.
Well I couldnt find anything and it seems i will have to live with that "annoying feature".

It would have been also nice to have the newsgroup feature included in outlook and that way i would have totally gone from OE to Outlook!

Thankx anyways

186687 2003-10-26 08:26:00 You can stay within Outlook to use Newsgroups. It calls up OE Newsreader, but its quite seamless.
