186644 2003-10-26 03:08:00 How can you force XP to accept a change to the environment variables available in the SET command?

I want to change the following;

SET HOMEDRIVE=H:
SET HOMEPATH=\
SET APPDATA=H:\Application Data

Checking with SET shows these have changed, however when another Command window is opened these changes are no longer there.

186645 2003-10-26 03:55:00 try Control Panel --> System --> Advanced --> Environment Variables. Dolby Digital (160)

The other suggestion will on access the temp file locations.

186648 2003-10-27 08:56:00 Since any version of NT does not use an autoexec.bat file,
to add or edit the environment variables on XP:

Right click on My Computer
Select Properties
Click on the Advanced tab
Click on the Environment Variables button
From here you can change them for the system or just the current user.
