186446 2003-10-25 04:29:00 I got my mate to pick me up some speakers from QMB. Specifically the SP-6050 Super Woofer by COMEP. He has some himself and they kick arse (600W). The package is one subwoofer/amplifier and two satellites.

The subwoofer has the power and the input plug (3.5mm) and output plug to the satellites (also 3.5mm).

But when I plugged them in I found that it cancels the voice and some other channel. Or thats what it sounds like.

On: Hate to say I told you so - The Hives you cannot hear the voice(s). The same goes for Tender by [b]Blur[/].

I have tried reinstalling the audio drivers (Realtek AC97 same as my friends) but to no avail. However my old speakers still work fine (despite being $12 el cheap o's).

Also on the new ones if I unplug the input plug (computer to speaker) a little bit, the sound gets louder but not better. When plugged in properly its quiet.

Are they dud speakers?

186447 2003-10-25 04:53:00 By voice and some other channels do you mean the high pitched sounds? I have this problem when the cat loosens the plug a bit - so it maybe a connection somewhere.

186450 2003-10-25 07:16:00 Check the equalizer settings of your audio software whiskeytangofoxtrot (438)
186451 2003-10-25 07:43:00 checked the audio hardwares softwares equalizers settings musicmatch does not have an equalizer ( idont think) but i think it could be winamp3 because that has an error but when i try to remove it in control panel it says: there are no programs installed and then the programs do show up but the change and remove buttons are greyed out.

I have tried changing the cable but to no avail.

I have win2k by the way.

186452 2003-10-25 10:28:00 The effect you are hearing is caused by subtracting the Left Channel from the Right Channel (or vice versa). It removes (most of) the audio that is evenly balanced in both channels. It leaves the audio that exists mainly in one channel only.

If everything is connected correctly externally, it suggests incorrectly connected amplifiers in the unit itself.

Its new

Take it back.
