2003-10-28 01:52:00 | I had a trouble like yours.I deleted norton firewall and everything went back to normal.I just realised that another cause of the problem could be installing all the windows patches at once. This caused my friends computer's internet connection to not send or receive any data.Zone alarm had a conflict with my internet connection once.paradise told me to disabled and then delete zone alarm. | yingxuan (3330) | |

2003-10-28 04:52:00 | ARRRRR i was hoping I'd come home from skool 2day - and it'd all be fine... well, its not :( I tried using Opera - does the same thing - connects with no probs, goes fine for about a minute (is getting less tho), then just stops - and we get about 2kb been recieved every 30sec (and that comes in a burst). Also - it's like it for other apps - if i don't even open up IE - and go straight to my email (outllok XP) it gest one or two emails - then net just dies - and i get errors - only way i can currently check emails is to use Mailwasher - but sometimes i don't get them all anyway... I disabled Norton Antivirus and Internet Secutiry (i have system works) but does the same thing. I closed all the safe programs to close in backgorund - no luck.... i don't no... I just hope it gets better soon

2003-10-28 07:08:00 | Fergie I came across this (www.cexx.org) site, which has a fix for what sounds like a similar or the same problem. It was reccommended from another site and seems kosher. Have a look anyway. I doubt very much your problems are with paradise, I am starting to think there may be some corruption with your dailup/network system. See if the link seems relevant, and if so give it a go otherwise I guess the next step is to un/reinstall your networking. How did the "processes" thing work out and how many programs are you running on startup?

2003-10-29 19:09:00 | I suspect Merlin would have an appropriate quotation for your problem :) You seem to be in a complete mess up. This may well be an occasion either for professional help, or a reinstall.

2003-10-29 19:34:00 | We've had the same slow down problem here in Hastings as well, using Firebird,Opera or IE6. Just sit here waiting for things to happen!!And trouble getting on sometimes, which never used to happen. My fault I think for recommending paradise to friends. :_|

2003-10-29 20:35:00 | first thing i would do is to borrow a mates acc (eg xtra, ihug etc) and set it up on your pc. if it does the same thing then its either your pc or phone lines thats the problem. if its only paradise thats doing it then give em hell ! ! ]:) i've had a few problems with paradise, mainly when they have been doing upgrades and they have been sorted withen a few days.
