| 186672 | 2003-10-26 11:13:00 | lol. Interesting...but lets say you change the client port on your machine, then thats just making the data come through the port on your computer so it can bypass your firewalls and get to your machine. But isn't the data going through the ISP, still on the same default port? Changing the port on your machine doesn't change what port other P2P clients send you data on? Then it would be easy to slow it down. Well, they haven't slowed emule down yet ;) Still crankin it at 13.6kB/sec dl, with 4kB/sec upload. No noticable difference on kazaa either. Maybe paradise just rules. I heard they are only slowing down P2P on some useless ISPs?? BTW, anyone read this from the article: "The man behind p2p.net.nz is Seeby Woodhouse, the managing director of North Shore internet provider Orcon." Sounds awsome, I'm going to sign up with orcon because they support Direct Connect and P2P :p |

| 186673 | 2003-10-26 20:03:00 | I think it's absolutely horrible that the CEO of RIANZ thinks Orcon is supporting illegal file sharing... yes, perhaps they have the technology available, but the only reason illegal file sharing happens is because of human nature - we want to share good things. And at least on p2p.net.nz they say not to share files you don't have the rights to - it's not Orcon's fault peope don't take heed of notices like that. |

They couldn't care less how much bandwidth you use on full speed, because they charge a nice healthy price for excess mb's |

| 186675 | 2003-10-26 22:24:00 | btw signing up to that p2p with orcon is freeeeeeeeeeeee i had a look last nite and theres NO MENTION of a price at all few rules thou, no fake files...rude names etc they even mentioned the age is quite low so guess kids actually know how to fileshare... i'm certian it be impossible to stop filesharing legal or illegally at all.. also did u guys see that 77% of dvds that are online illegally actually came from "inside" and hulk actually came from one of the backstage workers as they get a copy to have a look and rip and its online simple as that.. movie leaks (www.cnn.com) and now nz has to wait 9 months after international release b4 that specific dvd comes out :( |
