2003-10-26 04:26:00 | Is this the the thing you read: Pirates maraud on local hubs (www.nzherald.co.nz) > it appears to be low speed as xtra is trying to stop > people downloading huge files.... > is this correct? is it the above you read???, if so then Nope > Xtra and other internet providers "throttle" back download speeds to > the well-known internet file-sharing networks, slowing download times. They only "slow" downloads down to well-known internet file-sharing networks

2003-10-26 04:30:00 | yeah thats it... i know it doesnt say stop..but basically if ur stopping it there would be alot of unimpressed people so they slowing it down, i am on 56k so i dont even care if its slowed down but i know kazaa is well known thru pressf1 so things might go slower from now on but hey i'm sure it'd still be faster than 56k :P but how would they slow it down?

By the ports that kazaa etc... Use |

2003-10-26 07:33:00 | >By the ports that kazaa etc... Use This is what gets me with Jetream/Starter. They tell us they can only say traffic is either downloads or uploads=total but Kazaa uses standard ports (which is why it's such a pain to kill on a network) so how can they know if people are using kazaa etc - but on the other hand, they tell me they have no other stats on my usage other than download/upload? Is this a load of upcreek?

2003-10-26 10:01:00 | either they do know who uses what OR they gonna block kazza ports fully so even if its someone innocent who NEVER uses kazaa that wouldnt know its slowed down coz they not using it compared to whoever does

2003-10-26 10:06:00 | Changing what ports kazzaa uses is as easy as pie,easier even,i doubt i could make a pie. | metla (154) | |

2003-10-26 10:17:00 | aye?...u can confiure kazzaa to use any port, what are they gonna do block all ports? They only block the port kazzaa uses as default, just go in the optoins and assign another one.
