187140 2003-10-28 03:51:00 Looks like Microsoft has done an about-turn and hit the Unix problem head on.

I'm not sure that I'd call it a "Unix problem" - what's the problem with Unix?

Mike .

187143 2003-10-28 09:20:00 No problem at all Mike . The problem is with Windoze .

I am a big fan of any Unix system . The 'problem' I was refuring to was the problem it poses for Microsoft, they see it as a threat to their monopoly .

I am sure Bill is having sleepless night over the 5% who dont use Windows and them being mostly pony tailed geeks;)

Sorry about the pony tailed bit,but there are bound to be a few.

187145 2003-10-28 10:58:00 I am very sorry Thomas but Bill is having many a sleepless night because he can't buy it or close it down in any other way because it is GPL( Or as he states a virus etc.) Bill has always been able to fight against a regular software company (mostly illegaly) but this is not a company it is a bunch of happy and dedicated developers. I am also happy to say that I have passed some software as free. mikebartnz (21)
187146 2003-10-28 11:03:00 Very nice that the link that MS provides for the full story is dead. mikebartnz (21)
187147 2003-10-28 11:57:00 URL is fine here...
And I find this highly amusing that there is a Unix > Windows Migration guide....
I think MS have gotten that a little mixed up, but never mind. Better luck next time ;-)

187148 2003-10-28 12:47:00 Sorry Chill but went to the MS site Mike gave and the link from there is still dead. mikebartnz (21)
187149 2003-10-28 20:30:00 Codenamed "Longhorn", the software was shown to developers by Bill Gates, the technology giant's chairman and chief software architect.
But having read Mikebartnz,it is said he has become depressed and will not be available for some time.
