186909 2003-10-26 22:37:00 When I click on Add/Remove from my control panel (win2k system) first I get an error then it says in the A/R box: There are no programs installed on this computer. (!!!) Why does it do this?

The error says:

An unexpected error occured.

Class not registered.

res://appwiz.cpl/listbox.htc
Line: 225

Then the programs appear below view so i have to scroll to them, and when i click on them the change and remove buttons are blanked out.

Grrrrrr!!!!X-(

Why must windows do this!?!?!?X-(

186910 2003-10-26 23:08:00 The problem involves the APPWIZ . CPL component, which is invoked by the panel .

If this component is damaged or missing, you will get the error, but its possible its become unregistered .
Get to a command prompt by typing Start - Run - CMD, and at the command prompt type REGSVR32 APPWIZ . CPL .

If this doesn't work try running SFC (System File Checker) with the /SCANNOW option (type SFC /SCANNOW) . You may be asked to provide the Windows OS CD . There is a space after SFC in the command line .

186913 2003-10-28 04:22:00 Doesn't look good there Ham. Have a read here (searchwin2000.techtarget.com) which basically advises what GF has said already, but adds if they fail, you can use the upgrade instruction.
Good luck.
Oh there is a Microsoft article in their knowledge base here (support.microsoft.com) but it sure looks complicated.

186916 2003-10-30 00:53:00 I'm gonna try pulling some files off coldfusions pooter hamstar (4)
186917 2003-11-26 02:29:00 Okay... none of those worked. I tried pulling the appwiz.cpl file of coldfusions computer but it did nothing because he has SP4.

Then I tried updating my system to SP3 but to no avail.

Does ANYONE know how to fix this without a format... C'mon, someone must know.
