187137 2003-10-28 02:41:00 Hi,
I have an IBM Thinkpad with a 333 Celeron chip, 4.8G hard drive running Windows 98. I can't afford to buy a new PC or laptop, so what upgrade options do I have? Particularly for storage - 4.8G just isn't enough now!
- thanks

187138 2003-10-28 03:19:00 Phone the dealer and ask him/her what is the max size HDD u can take. Let get the HDD, usually 2.5" would suffice. U could try the web too, putting ur model number which is under the laptop - mine is 2662-31U S/N: XXXXXXXX something like that last ignore the last part, its the serial number. Get a latest bios flash and or embedded controller while u at it, it may allow larger HDD sizes nomad (3693)
187139 2003-10-28 07:17:00 If ur bay is removable, u could take the cd out and get a caddy, put the new hdd in it and plonk the caddy thing inside the cd bay. so then u have 2x hdd in the thinkpad.

ur hard drive could be user removable - check the manual, ibm online help or the ibm software that comes with ur laptop, usually take one screw out and pull out, push in with the attach outer latop cover.
