I first installed the drivers as requested, but when I plugged in the scanner Windows XP (home) gave the message:- Cannot install this hardware. An error occurred during the installation of the device. The required section was not found in the INF. I know the scanner works okay, as I've tried it on another machine. I also have a TV card installed and windows no longer recognises the drivers for this. Any fixes? Or should I re-install windows XP and if so, how do I do this? Thanks. |

| 186877 | 2003-10-27 01:39:00 | Try uninstalling and reinstalling the hardware and drivers. When the installation wizard asks for a source for the files or for windows to find choose to select the source and Browse to the installation cd for the correct files, eg, Drivers/Windows/EN/XP or something similar. In the case of my tv card it tells me it cannot locate the drivers even when I tell it where they are.The scanner doesnt even show up in device manager.Could all this be as a result of having had the blaster worm? | jiro (4782) | ||
| 186879 | 2003-10-27 10:07:00 | There's another thread on PF1 today where someojne suggests you need to run the TV cards setup program rather than use the haedware wizard. I don't think Blaster would have that effect. Is it a USB scanner? if it is check your BIOS setting to make sure your USB is enabled. USB may be found in more than one area of the BIOS.
