187416 2003-10-29 00:34:00 Hi All

I want to setup my Windows XP machine so when I delete a file from a local hard disk, it is moved to the Recycle bin without the Confirm Dialog box.

... BUT I want it to prompt me if I try and delete a file from a Network Volume.

I had this setup under Windows NT 4. but can't remember how I did it.

Cheers
Marshell

187417 2003-10-29 00:51:00 Do you mean, right clicking the Recycle Bin icon and un-ticking "Display delete confirmation dialog" option?

Not sure about the network drive.

187419 2003-10-29 02:28:00 In WinMe you can right click the recycle bin and select properties. In there you can choose to configure drives independantly. Have a chack to see if XP has the same option. parry (27)

187421 2003-10-29 03:39:00 Haven't the network volumes got their own Recycle Bins? Because this process is just a change of directory entries, it can't be between disks, because it would involve copying the affected files.

I think. :D
