| 187404 | 2003-10-28 23:58:00 | Having foolishly downloaded an unknown CAD program (INSTACAD) I find it does nasty things to my laptop and I wish to be rid of it. Needless to say, it has no uninstall option, so I found an article by Lincoln Spectre in PCW Sept 2002 (p104). I followed his instructions as far as tweaking the Reistry, particularly HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Applications but this only contained 9 folders (keys??) and did not appear to include the program I was looking for: neither did it seem contain a great number of programs running on my laptop. So I got stuck right there. As I still need to obliterate the rogue program can anybody help me do it please? Mike S PS The uninstall program (from 'Innovative') mentioned a while back by Susan B appears not to be available now |

From the list there, tick the boxes that have the program name ONLY. Some programs utilise registered parts from other suppliers, so don't assume anything. EG AVG uses a Kaspersky registred component. After you have any ticks, click on remove. Then go tools-registry cleaner and click through OK. After it has done it's thing, go select - all and at bottom, click on remove button. It is quite safe to select all. You may find your PC starts faster as well. |
