It would let a PNP operating system clear what the bios had set, and put its own settings. But it doesnt work now. For some reason my bios keeps switching it from enabled to disable, so every time I save it as enabled, it goes back to disabled. |

2003-10-31 21:52:00 | I noticed something odd. In my motherboard manual, it has the AMI bios. Yet my computer has the Award bios. The AMI bios seems to have better option than the award one. Can I switch?

2003-10-31 23:11:00 | It always locks up on PCI: Found IRQ 5 for device 00:0f.0 Is there anyway to find what it is, so I can pull it out?

2003-11-01 00:45:00 | An option to reset configuration will always disable itself. That's intended as a one-off thing. I'm pretty sure that Plug and Play should be disabled in the BIOS. That's a piece of Intel excrement "designed" to work with Microsoft. Linux works around it.

2003-11-01 05:58:00 | It should include drivers for your card (although I haven't checked). To set it up, start "Mandrake Control Center", goto hardware, and run harddrake. Select soundcard and hit "Run config tool". Hopefully that will be all that is required to fix it.
