| 187539 | 2003-11-11 19:27:00 | That was my thoughts too Metla, however I've been using Firebird for around 6-7 months solid (I took a break for a month way back when...) and so I wouldnt be able to tell if there was a popup there or not (Aside from the fact that an icon appears in the lower-left hand corner or MozillaFirebird to announce its greatness :-) Using a 3rd party popup stopper can be an advantage, however personally I dont see the point of having a popup stopper going 24/7 when Im not using the net (Okay... Im almost always downloading.. but surfing I mean). Its just adding more load to my PC which it can do fine without. SpyBot is something I agree you NEED to run, coz a quick browse around trademe while using MozillaFirebird and it hasnt stopped any popups, so I hate to say it but you have Spyware :-( www.spybot.info will take you to it. Something the rest of you may be interested in: IE to support Popup Stopping (news.com.com) Cheers Chill. |
