187533 2003-10-29 08:46:00 Apart frem Tweak(i think)everyone is missing a vital point here,Trademe does not have porn pop-ups.

The thread starter has adware installed on the machine, attack the cause not the effect.

Download and run the program called Spybot, then do the same with ad-awere6.

187537 2003-10-29 17:31:00 Use Netscape Navigator (7+) - The world's best browser, which of course has a built-in pop-up blocker Greg S (201)

187539 2003-11-11 19:27:00 That was my thoughts too Metla, however I've been using Firebird for around 6-7 months solid (I took a break for a month way back when...) and so I wouldnt be able to tell if there was a popup there or not (Aside from the fact that an icon appears in the lower-left hand corner or MozillaFirebird to announce its greatness :-)

Using a 3rd party popup stopper can be an advantage, however personally I dont see the point of having a popup stopper going 24/7 when Im not using the net (Okay... Im almost always downloading.. but surfing I mean). Its just adding more load to my PC which it can do fine without.

SpyBot is something I agree you NEED to run, coz a quick browse around trademe while using MozillaFirebird and it hasnt stopped any popups, so I hate to say it but you have Spyware :-(
www.spybot.info will take you to it.
