187332 2003-10-28 13:28:00 Help!
I run Windows ME.
I saved lots of digital pictures onto a CD with MGI Photosuite.
One time when I went to open up the CD I got a message saying that it required Adaptec UDF Reader and would I like to install it now?
I did so and now the CD will not open in MGI.
What's happened? Have I lost the pictures? Any help gratefully sought.
Chrispo.

187333 2003-10-28 13:37:00 hey welcome to pressf1...

did u save files to cd as a jpeg file or as specific program file? as i beleive if its saved as a general jpeg file it should open with any picture related program, like the MGI photosuite or Photoshop or Paint, etc...

you could try right clicking on the file and click open with, and pick something else like paint to veiw the image...

And since they are on cd, i'm pretty sure they arent lost :)

but related to the adaptec udf reader and opening in mgi..i apologise as i dont know but am sure someone here would b able to help :)

187334 2003-10-28 16:36:00 Hi Chrispo, you shouldnt have lost everything. Can you actually read the disc in Windows Explorer? I think there may be different solutions depending upon what CD writing software you have. UDF can normally only be viewed using a CDRW - are you trying to view the CD in a normal CDROM?

Adaptec software is now owned by Roxio so you might want to check their site (www.roxio.com). Also, it could be that Adaptec UDF conflicts with Nero's InCD if you have Nero installed.

Post again with what writing software you use and OS.
