187862 2003-10-30 23:53:00 Hi Pandora

I think we are going to be needing some further information to trouble-shoot these problems.

1. What operating system are you running?
2. How long have you been getting these errors for?
3. What have you changed on your computer around the time this all started - both hardware and any software installed/uninstalled.
4. When you get that error message, can windows continue loading or do you have to restart the PC again?
5. Do the error messages appear on a blue screen? Also, was there any further part of the error comments apart from what you have reported above?

Cheers
Jen :)

187863 2003-10-31 12:13:00 Hi Jen
I cleaned off my computer and reloaded everything and there they were.
I am using Win98SE.
They are little boxes left in the middle of the screen on boot-up. I click on OK and they have gone.

187864 2003-10-31 12:29:00 you delete everything off the HD and did a new install of windows?

if this is the case then what stage did the error come up?

have you got all drivers installed right?

187865 2003-10-31 21:09:00 Hi robsonde
Everything else seems to be working perfectly so I would say yes the drivers were installed perfectly.
This morning I got for the first time the beautiful blue screen when I clicked on the OK to get rid of the offending boxes. I started to copy it down:-
INVALID DYNAMIC LINK CALL FROM VWIN32(05) +000119E TO DEVICE "0002", SERVICE1
Then I was told it was an error in something and I needed to reinstall Windows so I stopped copying as I thought the problem solved. when it came to the final reboot there was the 'BSHOWSUSER FIELD NOT FOUND' back again

187866 2003-10-31 23:21:00 Did you format the Hard Drive, before installing Windows?
Bye

187867 2003-11-04 07:22:00 Yes, I did format my HD, that is what I meant by 'cleaning everything off'. I did not have the Pop ups before, just a very slow and often freezing up comp.
I have a AthlonXP1600+ Processor, 510RAM with my Win98SE
Why the little grey boxes are there when I start up I cannot fathom, especially as I always get the one and only sometimes get the other

Hi Pandora, Your "BSHOWSUSER Field Not found" message was posted in 2003. Pretty old, but I got the problem recently. Replies to your posting does not show a solution other than complete formatting reinstalling etc. I found my TurboNote V3.3, that gives me a sticky window on top does not seem to agree with XP and its Cwindow controller. Uninstalling it made the error vanish. Probably it was not in the profile for the current user. Reinstalling did not cause the error to reappear.
I am happy now and I want to pass on this to you. Not a great solution but if it gives you a clue I am very happy.

187869 2007-10-17 03:01:00 I had the same problem with the error message "BSHOWSUSER field not found" after a reboot. I noticed on one post that the only system the poster had seen that error was one that had TurboNote. I noticed that my TurboNote was not working. I tried to reinstall without success, and uninstall would not work. So I deleted all references to TurboNote from the registry and deleted the Turbonote folder. A reboot came up without the error message. I then reinstalled TurboNote and everything works fine. PhilM (4804)
