187745 2003-10-29 22:04:00 Aussie outfit Domain Names NZ is sending out letters again:

Domain name scam back for another try (computerworld.co.nz)

Trying to charge $237 for 2 years. Freeparking charges $75. Just plain obnoxious behaviour.

What's really sad is that people actually will do that, and register those domains....

187747 2003-10-29 23:41:00 Yeah Bruce :(

Got the letter, binned the letter. :D

But what about all the poor sods in accounts deparments who pay because it is within their discretionary "no need to ask" limits? Or those who don't understand but pay just in case because they don't want to do the "wrong thing." They are the ones that DN NZ are relying on for their income. X-(

Cheers

187749 2003-10-30 02:34:00 I wonder if Domain Names NZ would help the poor lady in Nigeria recover all that money. :D Graham L (2)

Arrrghhhhhhh

I thought I was the only one receiving that offer.

What a trollop! (Her, not you Graham.) :8}

It has got so you can't trust any of these internet offers anymore. My new medical degree didn't get me the Chief Surgeon's job at the new A+ Auckland Hospital, my vital statistic (*cough*) remains unelongated, I am still waiting for my share of the diamonds from South Africa and the dog still has boils.:(

Ram-Doubler didn't double, my download speed didn't triple, Nortons wouldn't sell me SystemWorks for $25, and now Domain Names NZ is shonky too. :_|

I think I'm gonna sulk for the rest of the year X-(

Cheers

[pre][b]Hmmm......Just an after-thought Graham, you were referring
to "Susan Atatah, 24 years old and the only daughter of a highly
reputable business magnet" weren't you? She sounds like a
very *attractive* person don't you think?
Billy T (70)
187751 2003-10-30 04:19:00 Don't worry, Billy. You can still get your own domain name in net.nz for only $237 for two years. :D Graham L (2)
187752 2003-10-30 08:04:00 Nah Billy, register it with me for $220 and I'll through in a set of steak knives. But hurry, this offer closes the moment your cheque clears .... Biggles (121)
187753 2003-10-30 20:26:00 Gee, thanks Bruce, I would have taken you up on that option but FreeParking have made me a better offer.:D

I can register my domain for $39.95 and use the other $180 to buy the steak knives of my choice. That way I'll have some money over for the steak.

Snappy marketing and good business nous to get in with their ad right after the Domainz ads went out. (See the back page of Section C of this morning's Herald in their weekly "IT for everyone" feature.)

Cheers

Billy 8-{) :)
[pre][b]Pity about the steak knives though, Mrs T
could use a new set, what with the barbecue
season coming up and all that!
