| 187675 | 2003-10-29 18:26:00 | Hi, quite a while ago i go microsoft word off my mate but i forgot that it had to be activated so i just deleted the folder i installed it to which happened to be on my D:/ partition, now when i try open .doc files it tries to install word and the what not. I use wordpad instead and micro pub 98 to do my processing etc. How can i get it so that .doc types are not to open with the *not there* word on win98se |

Right-click and select "Open with" (you may need to hold Shift down to get the option) Select the program you want to use Tick the box "Always use this program..." And for reference, you must "Uninstall" such programs, as it will still have registry keys associated with it. Use JV16 or similar to clean up, or re-install Word, then uninstall from Add-Remove programs. |
