| 187599 | 2003-10-29 08:36:00 | If one has the given sizes of a tyre they can then work out the outside diameter. E.g 205 65 15 Let me first say that tyre numbers are the stupidest mix of imperial mixed with metric mixed with percentage. O.k 205mm is the outside width of the tyre, 65% of the tyres width is the tyres profile height, 15" the diametre of the rim in inches. Now let's work it out, first converting those stupid inches into millimetres even though it's the last number. 15"x25.4=381 So it's the width of the tyre times the profile % twice then the diametre in mills 205 x65%=133 x2=266 +381=647 outside diametre. Oh yes that's right I had a question, letsay in a form I input the data such as 205 65 15, how could I make Access work out the formula and automaticly input that on the form? Cheers Ron |

| 187600 | 2003-10-29 08:46:00 | Assuming you have all the components of the formula in separate fields then create an unbound textbox, click in he box and enter the formula. eg =([field1]*0.65)*2+381 If there not in separate fields and all together your going to have to separate the info by using a function such as Left or Mid. |
