| 187593 | 2003-10-29 07:47:00 | HI Folks,I have a new laptop with XP.Windows Media Player is playing up by suddenly bursting into life quiet frequently[without prompting].I have downloaded a newer version but no difference.I have done the ADD/REMOVE thing,but as it is a 'default' program it does not remove the program & it keeps displaying.--any ideas rdee | rdee (1809) | ||

I would suggest checking out your computer for other programs triggering it eg spyware or some other 'helpful' application from the laptops manufacturer for example. Adaware or spybot might be good applications to start with, both can be found using google. |

| 187598 | 2003-10-30 20:30:00 | rdee....I had a similar problem with acrobat reader doing the same....worked out it was a virus that kept mushrooming ....it cost me to get rid of the problem and I had had spybot installed...have had no problems since...I know how frustrating it must be for you...if it persists get it checked out. cheers |
