188374 2003-11-01 03:44:00 Hi folks,
I use Windows 2000 and lately when I click on the dial-up connection icon
(tv screen icon) on the system tray to disconnect there is no response.
The ihug connection status dialogue box always used to show and I could click on the disconnect button. Now there the ihug connection status box
does not appear. When this occurs I can often right click over the icon
and succesfully click on disconnect. I hear the modem click confirming the disconnect. (lately sometimes right clicking produces no response either)

Sometimes I try to double click on the Short cut to IHUG on the desktop
to obtain the ihug connection status dialogue box to click the disconnect button. Recently that method is also failing to respond to the mouse clicks
although the mouse clicks work rapidly on other icons.
What action can I take to ensure a normal response when clicking on the
system tray dial-up connection icon?

Thank you

If you're left-clicking then it'd need to be a double-click to bring up the connection status (and the disconnect button).

I meant to say double clicking with the left button produced no effect .
Although on boot up the dial-up network icon usually responds correctly .

I am inclined to think that it may be related to some permission asked
for and granted shortly after by ZoneAlarm Pro . Can't think of why else
the dial-up networking icon ceases to respond .

You can eliminate that possibility by disabling ZoneAlarm for a short while and seeing if the problem has gone away .
