I had no IM programs running in the background while It just came up. What is "Messenger Service" and how where did it come from? It is a new way of getting spam via popups on XP computers that don't use a firewall and have not disabled Messenger in services. To stop this, go into Control Panel, Admin Tools and click on Services. Scroll down until you see Messenger and right click on it and select properties. Then select stop and startup type = disabled. Click OK. You can read more about it here (www.microsoft.com) |
