188364 2003-11-01 21:38:00 with overclocking it all depends on what your after. sometimes even a small overclock is enough for you to play a certain game at playable frame rates. exspecially with the slower pc's every little bit is usually noticeable.

with the p2's....some of the early ones arn't muliplier locked (i just had a 333 running at 500) otherwise you can simply increase the FSB. however if your already running a 100mhz FSB (later p2's) then you may be overclocking the motherboard, ram, agp, pci slots so how well it will go depends on what motherboard and ram you have.

as you can see sy has had a bit of practise at overclocking :)

As another success story, my old celeron 333 has been ripping along at 475 for about 4 years now. Very real gains, the virus scanner takes 7 instead of 15 mins to run!!

if you've got an inexpensive CPU - make it run!
