188129 2003-10-31 09:41:00 The only one I know of is sometimes Outlook Express won't open to the inbox. If you close down ACG and then open, it works OK. Pheonix (280)
188130 2003-10-31 10:17:00 ummm, I still do not know if AVG was causing the problem, but I had a few computer problems a while back( I cant remember what it the computer problems where :8} :|), but like I said I do not know if AVG was the culprit( or if it was software or hardware problem) the 1st time I had AVG on my computer before I went to NAV then back to AVG :D stu140103 (137)
188131 2003-10-31 10:29:00 I tried AVG once (literally) when my Norton subscription was soon to expire, and the only problem I had with it was it's horrible interface.

I then moved onto avast!, and I don't know why everyone else doesn't either.

188132 2003-10-31 11:31:00 I've never had any AVG problems, and I've installed it on quite a few machines.

As for the interface, I actually like it (although not initally). It isn't as pretty as others but it is very good from a usability perspective (my parents etc. have no problems using it). The avast main window is awful from a usablility point of view.

188133 2003-10-31 12:20:00 I have had 1 problem with AVG 6 pro, none AVG free version, I actually like AVG frees interface so much that I change Avg Pro interface to match, as I find it is much easier for the end user to operate.
The problem I had with the pro version was on one brand of pc it would hang on install. I got round this by installing in safe mode. I think there was a clash of software, only happened on this one brand of pc using 98se, the same brand of pc using 2k was fine.

188134 2003-10-31 20:32:00 the only problem i've had is AVG interface causeing freecell not to work on a win98original pc. tweak'e (174)
188135 2003-11-01 01:03:00 Yes, avast's main interface is a little bit clunky, but I hardly ever use it.

I have alerts for auto updates on, fully customised on-access scanners for everything, and screen saver scanning turned on, so I rarely venture into the main interface window.

188136 2003-11-02 05:12:00 ok as i havent pin pointed this as the problem, i was just curious.
and i take note of all the comments made,
but......
are there any symptoms to pass on to say why you think it was effecting the machine or program?
or what made you think or know it was avg causing it?

and if so how did you cure these probs?
