188071 2003-10-31 03:12:00 I am trying to get a floppy disc with a game to play. It says:
PROBLEM WITH SHORTCUT
The drive or network connection that the shortcut 'Times Tables.Ink'
refers to is unavailable. Make sure that the disk is properly inserted or the network resourse is available, and then try again.

I know the disk is inserted properly, what should I do????

188072 2003-10-31 03:18:00 Right-click on the shortcut, and select Properties.

Look at where the shortcut is pointing to reference the program,

Try "Find Target" and navigate to the program.

188074 2003-10-31 03:30:00 Here is a picture (sal.neoburn.net) of the properties of a shortcut.

Check the "Target" location and tell us what it is in your case.

It would have helped if you mentioned what Operating System version you have. What you see in the image above is for Windows XP

188076 2003-10-31 03:51:00 When you click on "Find Target" does it go straight to the program's .exe file or does it say it can't be found? Fire-and-Ice (3910)
188077 2003-10-31 03:52:00 yes it gives me that first message again that I posted. starfish (3019)
188078 2003-10-31 03:53:00 And what exacly happens when you click "Find Target"? godfather (25)
188079 2003-10-31 03:55:00 The programme is on the floppy on drive A: . The shortcut is looking for it on the hard drive C:.

Explore the floppy. If there is a programme called setup.exe, thjat will probably install it on the hard disk. If there isn't, you could ether just click on the Tables.exe to run it, or right click on it to make a new shrotcut.

188080 2003-10-31 04:05:00 That sounds like an old DOS program to me, would that be right? If it is you probably won't be able to play it on Win XP. Fire-and-Ice (3910)
