The name is now Claria, so be on the lookout for this piece of nasty software. This is probably a step to mask the software further as Gator was becoming a rather well known advertisement product, and a increasing amount of people were taking steps against it. You'll find a nice overview of gator history and the article on Cnet (news.com.com) Maybe you find it interesting what kind if informations Gator aka Clara is collecting, so read more. I think it needs a few people suing the pants off them. The Yankee court system is absolutely crazy letting Gator sue anyone for calling their crap software spyware which it is and most people do not realise that it has been installed on their PC's |
