I have an V.90 Intel Ambient HaM Modem (MD5628D) which is causing Windows XP Pro to hang on shutdown. This is a documented problem which SP1 was supposed to fix. But it hasnt. I have tried everything I can think of including the suggestions at aumha.org as well more recent Intel drivers and even a complete reinstallation of XP. All to no avail. Disabling the modem is the only thing which works. Im about to buy a new modem as a last resort. Has anyone out there actually solved this problem another way? |

Is this a new computer on which the modem has always caused this problem? Or is Win XP an upgrade from a previous version of Windows? |

can you change the com port the modem is using. Why do you say in your topic title IRQ conflict, is device manager showing a yellow exclamation mark for this device |

The computer is 18 months old and has always had this problem. However, I installed a new Dynalink modem today and the problem has gone. Thanks anyway. |
