188982 2003-11-04 01:19:00 I have Linux RedHat 9 and was wondering if I could access Fat32/files from other Computer running WinXP Crazkilla (4482)
188983 2003-11-04 01:38:00 If you have a crossover cable or a hub, yes you can. :D

You can FTP to/from the XP (if you run a server on the XP). You can start up Samba on the RH machine and use that to talk "Microsoft" to it. ;-)

As soon as you are doing network operations the file system at the other end doesn't matter --- the OS there handles it. The network handles data.

188984 2003-11-04 01:42:00 I am now in the position in upgrading to Linux since i have just bought a router but i have movies on my fat32 that I need. I suppose I only want it to try out, a play around since I have a new laptop that I can do all my work on. Hmmm suppose I can always boot into WinXP when I need it. Crazkilla (4482)
188985 2003-11-04 01:48:00 If you are putting RH to multiboot on the same machine, you will be given the option of mounting a Windows FAT32 partition in the Linux system. No problem. You said "another machine". :-(

But the networking is still pretty easy/trivial.
