| 189309 | 2003-11-05 03:29:00 | I have just put win98 on my 76 yr old m/inlaws puter so she can still play bridge and basically the overlay of 95 went well, The main thing I am missing is the chimes (.wav)??? I reinstalled the ESS sound card and it plays music CD fine and when u use the dial up you can hear the modem through the speakers etc so I understand i have a conflict as it says when I go into check the sounds that "your sound card is being used" When u go to "test" the .wav against the sybols. I have read a few things but i am confused the more i read and the fact I have sound from the modem etc has me perplexed, I have also lost the volume icon and I have follwed the instructions in MS to get it back but it dont come. It is a ess 1868 sound card but i dont think that is the problem it is getting the wav to work! My mil needs sound for her bridge!! so if anyone can help then much appreciated Richard Seay |
