190031 2003-11-08 00:09:00 Hi
Have recently started using MozillaFirebird, and am nothing but impressed. Especially with the size and speed. I now want to UNinstall Internet Explorer, but can't seem to find a way of doing that. Also could this cause problems running other programs?

Thanks in anticipation
Julia

I always thought it was unwise to uninstall IE, but I could be wrong. My advice is to keep it as it is always good to have two browsers on your computer. There was a time my Netscape became corrupted and would not open. With still having IE installed I could download Netscape again and install it. Without a second browser it would have been more difficult.

You may also need IE for windows updates.

190033 2003-11-08 00:15:00 You could go to add/remove programs in Control Panel.

But.

I have heard that the 'bundling' aspect of Microsoft's OSs means that you could cause problems for your OS. (Assuming you are using a MS one.)

190034 2003-11-08 00:22:00 Are you running win XP??? If you are then you should have no problem removing it,

But if you are using win 98 se / win ME (not too sure about 2000) then do not bother.

(Just remove the links on the start menu/ quick lunch & desktop icons), also you will not be able to run windows update either :(

190037 2003-11-08 02:09:00 If you want to read up on the various bugs and tweaks have a look at these sites: Annoyances.org (www.annoyances.org/), Mocrosuck (http:) and BlackViper (www.blackviper.com). Look down the left hand side of the latter for win xp sevices and installation.

If your a sensitive type do not read on. the url is: www.f***microsoft.com Despite the somewaht rabid stlye there is some usefull info. Also have a look for Tweak UI for XP.
