1327067 2013-02-08 10:49:00 Too much...but I think no early classics or vintage games mentioned, from Atari. Use to play them and dozens of other students missing lectures, and a bit of our youth, mindlessly playing Atari games at Auckland Uni's Gaming room around '79 - 83.

Ok...here's some vids of super popular one's - Space Invaders, (www.youtube.com) Defender (www.youtube.com) (dozens use to queue for double players for beers - very noisy game), Asteroids, (www.youtube.com) Battlezone, Lunar Lander (www.youtube.com) (Vectors)....and the ubiquitous (at the time)... Pac Man... (www.youtube.com)
And... the pong tennis game (www.youtube.com) one of the first arcade games in NZ around 1973...or '75 - can't remember.

1327068 2013-02-08 13:15:00 Looks like someone had far too much time/money on their hands.

I'll stick with MAME for old games. I wouldn't say no to the still boxed up spectrum 48k though..

US $550,000.00

Sorry, way overpriced.

You can get any number of emulators and play this sort of thing.
Friend built a mame cabinet once, rotating screen for side scrolling or upright scrolling, had masses of games on it, with a menu system.
Novelty wore off, even I've tried it, you can't go back, it's fun in your mind, but in reality games have moved on and it's quite sad actually playing them now. It's not the same at all.

1327070 2013-02-08 21:21:00 Never mind the price, just visualise not having to worry about what to do on a wet Sunday; at least not until the end of the year anyway. R2x1 (4628)

I don't think anybody would buy them to play but just as collectables. Like someone having a collection of 1935 Buck Rogers comics.
