1327001 2013-02-07 22:12:00 Should the New Zealand taxpayer foot the bill for this persons incarceration for 'life' (sick joke) or should we bundle them up and ship them back to where they came from with a bullseye on their back?

Your thoughts...

1327002 2013-02-07 22:14:00 +1 on the extradition, perhaps a skydiving lesson on the way without a parachute Gobe1 (6290)
1327003 2013-02-07 22:31:00 But he most likely won't be punished at all if they deport him...

Extradition is a completely different matter.

1327006 2013-02-08 00:46:00 Dawood, who had tried to kill himself, was taken to hospital but his wife died at the scene

There is the second mistake, they should have helped him kill himself right there, and that would have been the end of the problem, now we have to pay for it for the next 17 years. The first mistake was letting him into the country.

1327007 2013-02-08 01:04:00 This is why we need degree’s of murder where 1st Degree murder attracts the death sentence.

I’m also all for deporting criminals, but in this case he would probably be a hero in his own country given that stoning women to death seems to be a pastime.

Maybe send him to a Woman’s Prison and insist he shower with them. ;)

1327008 2013-02-08 02:20:00 We are too kind to these sort of people. He would perhaps have not been treated so kindly back in Iraq. Bobh (5192)
1327009 2013-02-08 03:03:00 Neither.

A bullet in the back of the head is the only punishment for certain crimes. Including killing or molesting children.

And anyway life is 17 years is it? How come we don't get to retire until (almost) 67 then? 50 years after we're dead.
