That said, more Australians as a percentage are likely to be patriotic and celebrate Australia Day or Americans celebrate Independance Day than Kiwis celebrate Waitangi day. Basically the majority of people just don't care and find the whole day to be a sham. Right again Chill. The problem is most Kiwis take a bit of Aussie banter to heart, where as its like water off a ducks back to them. Not long ago I was sharing a table with an old Digger in the Hervey Bay RSL and I got picked as a Kiwi so the banter started. Well I enjoy this type of thing and the insults flew but nobody took offence. Anyway the old Digger had to go home, he bid me good night a whispered in my ear You know, if I was in deep **** and didnt have an Aussie on my shoulder Id want a Kiwi. I assured the feeling was mutual, which pleased him, and we departed friends. But when parochialism gets out of hand in either country I say to them: Get your Navman out and ask it to find Anzac Avenue in either country, and then ask yourself why there are so many Anzac Avenues. ;) |

So you would make a choice between Mongrel Mob, Black Power, Hells Angels etc. You dont like any, but you would choose one just to exercise your right. There lies a problem when you feel obliged to to choose what you see as the lesser of all evils. |

| 1326635 | 2013-02-05 07:42:00 | I heard on the radio where a caller said the staff where he worked asked the boss if they could all work tomorrow and add the day on to the Easter break? Sounds a good idea to me. Ken That is all right as long as the union man doesn't find out. Years ago there was an Auckland company where the workers wanted to work the Friday night shift on Sunday instead and everyone was happy until the union man found out.:( |

They are right NZ is wrong we pander to other races they sure dont do that in Oz. That lady should just be arrested and jailed for breaching the peace. I have no time for that b!tch but the Aussies used to be pretty shocking with their race relations going for an Abbo shoot like we would a possum or rabbit shoot. |

That was a long time ago. I am not so sure it was for sport but for theft and stuff. It was legal in USA to shoot a horse thief or cattle rustlers at the same time. |

Nice view - But that's today possibly, all over the news was reports of floods and storms in Parts of Aussie a few days back, while here in NZ it was absolutely beautiful. Like these (www.nzherald.co.nz) Now were are finally sending off the Aussie crap weather which was sent over the ditch :D But roll on National Protest day, let them fight amongst themselves as to who's going to escort who. |
