1350168 2013-07-29 21:53:00 Some earlier firmware revisions for the WAG120N did indeed miss a decimal from noise margin, though I thought they also missed it from attenuation, so may not be the case here. inphinity (7274)
1350169 2013-07-29 23:19:00 Those signal to noise figures seem totally bogus, 123 DB ?? I don't think that's even possible, is there a decimal point missing? (every 3 DB = half the power. a 12 DB margin is a signal 16 times stronger than the background noise). Did this happen before or after the firmware update?

+1 for talking to your ISP first, if nothing else they can eliminate any obvious line fault

I was looking to see if anyone had picked up on the line stats, they are off the wall!

1350170 2013-07-30 00:42:00 Pretty sure it's just those modems missing some decimal points. The one I used to have was like that too.

Edit - the transmit power is well out of whack though.

1350171 2013-07-30 04:49:00 Wouldn't it be a good idea to ring your ISP before jumping to the conclusion that a new modem will fix things?

^^ This. Could well be your line turned to ****, corroded connection or such.

They were the same before the firmware update.

I saw a lot of people having similar issues with WAG120N.

1350174 2013-07-30 10:12:00 At least those stats look more worldly than the other set.

Interesting to hear whether you still get the dropouts. Nothing like substitution to test for problems!

1350175 2013-08-10 11:51:00 Ok. Well it was stable for a day and then went to crap again.
Telecom apparently noticed 99 disconnections in the 24 hours they monitored my connection.

Had a technician come over, said there was nothing wrong with my line after testing it for 20 mins at the cabined and 10-15 mins at my place. He said my line will be monitored for a further 24 hours.

My connection went unstable again an hour after he left. Over the next 7 hours, I lost connection a further 47-odd times.

I get a few good hours, and then disconnections every other minute. Sometimes twice minute. :(

This has become a nightmare.

1350176 2013-08-10 22:00:00 Have you had a line filter installed?

If not, presume you have disconnected everything in the house except the modem?

1350177 2013-08-11 00:49:00 Maybe you're getting interference from something on the power grid? Agent_24 (57)
